gktools |
gktools consists of two GUI utilities for managing Kerberos V
tickets:
|
Obtains Kerberos ticket-granting tickets. Similar to kinit |
|
Lists and monitors the tickets obtained for the user |
It was initially created quickly to allow some non tech users to
work on Linux machines in an MS Active Directory
domain, and the need for some GUI tools to manipulate the kerberos
ticket came forth.
gktools is based on the gnome-kerberos package from Red Hat.
Nothing says more than a few screenshots.

The gkinit tool. Used to obtain a ticket granting ticket |
![]() |
The gktickets tool. Lists all tickets and shows various information about them |
![]() |
gktickets also live in the tray, indicating the state of the ticket granting ticket Green = ticket ok Yellow = ticket soon to expire Red = ticket expired. Cross Icon = no ticket |
The current version 0.10.2 should work fine. The autorenewal
feature is new since 0.9.x and is considered experimental.
Patches are welcome. Note that it is only
tested on Linux(Fedora Core 2/3/4) and needs GTK2 and
MIT KerberosV
